To celebrate the first game in the new Vikings stadium (which just happen to be vs. the Packers), we had a tailgate party and encouraged tenants to wear their Vikings/Packers gear. These two ladies really got in the spirit with their Brett Farve jerseys!

Oak Park residents look forward to their puppy visits from CoCo’s Heart Rescue twice a month! CoCo’s Heart Rescue brings in puppies that are currently up for adoption to visit and play with the residents.
Being with a dog can help reduce cortisol (a stress hormone), and help boost levels of the serotonin (the happy hormone). Dogs seem to have an instinct for when sad or frightened people need to be comforted. For seniors facing fears of the future or surgery, a pup can help someone stay in the moment. Dogs can also help relieve the stresses of people with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Patients with dementia experience bouts of agitation, and pups can help calm them down. The first official day of Fall is September 22nd (just one week away!), and our tenants at Oak Park Senior Living are getting into the season’s spirit!
Residents were busy working their fine motor skills making fall crafts, including painting Halloween pumpkin decorations (seen below).
An afternoon well spent!

Last Thursday, some of our tenants enjoyed a pontoon ride on the St. Croix river, courtesy of the Let’s Go Fishing Organization. The trip included going under the Stillwater Bridge, which is still being constructed.
What a beautiful day for a ride. Thank you, LGF!
