From all your friends at Oak Park Senior Living, we wish you a very fun and happy Halloween! Stay safe and spooky, everyone. ?
Oak Park Senior Living spent a gloomy afternoon with entertainer Kent Appeldoorn. Kent had everyone laughing, tapping their toes, singing, and dancing. Music is a fun way to pass the time on rainy days! ???
For a very special project last week, several tenants spent time coloring in artwork to be sent to Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) all across the country. These pictures are placed on the incubators of premature or sick newborns to provide comfort and support to their families. A family member here at Oak Park connected us with an artist who designs the cards and will be in charge of distributing them.
Oak Park Senior Living recently celebrated the last BBQ of the summer with a Renaissance theme. Along with the BBQ, tenants made flower crowns and we held a Renaissance Art Fair. Tenants showed off their artistic talents in paintings, woodwork, quilting, and needlework. As you can see from the pictures, we have a lot of very talented tenants here at Oak Park!
Oak Park Senior Living celebrated Oktoberfest last week. Our afternoon included a polka band and yummy German-inspired treats from our kitchen. And of course, no Oktoberfest would be complete without beer taste testing. Our tenants sampled several kinds of specialty Oktoberfest brews. PROST! ?
Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, and raised funds.
We had an awesome year. Together we raised more than $60,000 to help fight this horrible disease. We truly could not do this without all of you.
Sincerely, your co-captains –
Lisa Lemieux and Peggy Johnson
