Together, we can advance research to treat and prevent Alzheimer’s, and provide programs and support to improve the lives of millions of affected Americans.

The 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on Saturday, September 9th at the Target Field in Minneapolis, MN. The registration begins at 7:30 AM, then the cermony at 9:00 AM, and lastly the walk at 9:25 AM. The walk is a 1 or 2.3 mile option and welcomes participants of all ages and abilities. Register to participate in the Walk, your fundraising dollars fuel our mission, and your participation helps to change the level of Alzheimer’s awareness in our community.

Morning Exercise Program

The tenants in our West Memory Care enjoyed a fun morning exercise program. Instead of a boring routine, the residents used noodles, hand swatters and balloons to make it actually FUN to exercise. In fact, the residents were having so much fun they didn’t want to stop for lunch!

Stillwater Boat Ride

August 30th, 2017

On Tuesday afternoon the tenants from Oak Park Senior Living embarked on an adventure aboard the Stillwater Boat and Packet Paddleboat Cruise. We were blessed with perfect weather as we enjoyed a yummy buffet and beautiful scenery along the St. Croix River. As an added bonus to our day, the bus driver got lost and we ended up crossing over the new Stillwater Bridge, which for many on the trip was the first time over it since it opened early this month.

Second Annual Alzheimer’s Fundraiser!

August 14th, 2017

Oak Park held its second annual Alzheimer’s fundraiser on Thursday, August 10th. Family, friends, tenants and staff came together to raise money to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s. We enjoyed good food and excellent entertainment from Wayne and the Boys and Will Bauermeister. A Silent Auction was also held with around $2700 being raised for the Alzheimer’s Association.

St. Croix Pontoon Ride

July 11th, 2017

Several tenants enjoyed a pontoon ride recently on the St. Croix River. The afternoon was HOT, but the weather was perfect on the water. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the river and some of the houses along the way. We also got an up close look at the new Stillwater bridge that’s set to open at the beginning of August.

Fourth of July Celebration

Disney BBQ!

We had our first BBQ of the season and the theme was “DISNEY.” Everyone enjoyed the great food and visits from Disney characters.  Special thanks to Dean and Andy for grilling during the down pour!

Minnesota Twins Game

June 2nd, 2017

Oak Park Senior Living attended the Minnesota Twins vs. the Houston Astros on Wednesday, May 31st. The weather was perfect and the 18 people that attended the game enjoyed free ice cream and $1.00 hot dogs!  We also got to see LOTS of home runs, unfortunately, most of them were by the other team.  The final score was 17-6 but everyone agreed it was a great day at Target Field.

Planting Flowers

Residents from our Memory Care South spent the afternoon planting flowers in the boxes located on their patio. Everyone warmed themselves in the sun and will enjoy taking care of the flowers all summer long!

Easter Fun

May 1st, 2017

The Easter Bunny made a special appearance at Oak Park Senior Living on the Saturday before his “big day”.  Along with getting their picture taken with the bunny each tenant received an Easter Egg full of treats.
