Our Assistant Residence Director, Jaime, recently received a thoughtful thank you note from one of our community members, which we always love!
“I wanted to send a compliment for Dean because for anything that needs repair, he does it right away (even though I always say ‘no rush’ in my notes to him). Additionally, I recently had Sean assist me with a light bulb change and he has a friendly personality and accomplishes whatever needs repair.
Both Dean and Shawn were here this morning to replace the light fixture over my kitchen sink. Not only is it terrific having light again over the sink, it was also enjoyable being able to chat with both of them.
You are also so caring and have a loving personality, Jaime, and I always enjoy talking with you.” – Carol G.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Carol. We take pride in going above and beyond for those who call our community home, and it’s always amazing to hear when it shows.
A family member of one of our residents recently sent a very kind thank you to one of our nurses, Lucy Y.:
“I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for setting up the daily weight and compression sock chart for my mom. It is very helpful in monitoring her health. We also appreciate your responsiveness and follow-through when we have health concerns regarding mom.
We are grateful for the care you and your team are providing.” -Julie T.
At Oak Park Senior Living, we take pride in going the extra mile to ensure the health and happiness of our residents, and we love to hear when it shows. Thank you for sharing, Julie, and thank you, Lucy, for all you do for our community!
Santa and his helpers left the North pole a bit early to pay a special visit to the residents of Oak Park Senior Living. They brought candy and spread lots of joy and laughter as they made their way around the entire building! đ
Oak Park Senior Living tenant, Marj A., allowed us to display her very impressive Christmas village for all to enjoy. Marj has been collecting her villages for many years and each piece has a special meaning to her. Since Christmas had to be a bit different this year, she wanted to share the joy the villages bring her with everyone. Thank you, Marj!
Residents from our Garden Cove apartments spent one December afternoon frosting, decorating, and eating delicious Christmas cookies. Everyone loved sharing their favorite Christmas cookie recipe, as well as a few baking mishaps they’ve had over the years!
Oak Park Senior Living staff received some very kind notes of thanks and gratitude in spirit of the holiday season!
This is from one of our resident couples:
“Betty and I want to say thank you for the first place victory on our door decorations. We also want to express our gratitude for the weekly publication you send to the residents. It is extremely well done and a very enjoyable read, and the games and challenges are fun as well. I tip my hat to you for putting it all together each week. Many kudos to you and your staff for brightening our day!
I always say Enjoy life to the fullest, as we never know when the Big Guy will call us home.’
Take care and stay safe.” -Jim and Betty G.

Oak Park Senior Living staff received a very kind and heartwarming thank you from a residentâs family member following a recent social distance visit:
âI wanted to thank the Oak Park staff for their willingness to arrange a brief outdoor visit for my mom and two of her granddaughters. Travel plans suddenly changed and this was their only opportunity to see her as they were passing through town.
Although I didnât want my dear mother out in the awful heat for too long, the short time we had was extremely precious to all of us. Seeing her in person again after such a long time brought me to tears, and I know my nieces and mom felt extreme joy being able to visit and talk with each other.
So, although I thanked your staff repeatedly (especially Sue, who called to get special permission for the extra-short visit), I wanted to share again how very much we appreciated it, how much it meant to us, and how much it lifted my momâs spirits.
I know the COVID constraints are causing a lot of stress and extra work for all of you, but we truly appreciate everything you do. Even these seemingly little things mean the world to us.â -Mary S.
Thank you for the kind words, Mary! We are so happy things worked out and your family had an amazing visit. â¤ď¸
Oak Park Senior Livingâs Residence Director, Terri Pratt, received another message of gratitude from a residentâs family member recently:
âMy family and I couldn’t be happier about how you and everyone at Oak Park have been handling this crazy COVID situation. We really appreciate the updates and your efforts to keep everyone safe while also understanding their need for socialization. Thatâs a difficult line to walk, and I want you to know our family thinks you all are handling it well.
Our father, Richard, has loved living in your community, and we appreciate everyone who helps him on a daily basis. Thank you SO much and keep up the excellent work!â -Jeff K.
We always prioritize the safety, well-being, and happiness of our residents at Oak Park, especially during these difficult times. Thank you so much for the lovely message, Jeff!
Oak Park Senior Living celebrated summer with a âbalcony serenadeâ on a beautiful, sunny afternoon recently. Musician Michael Riddle performed a 30-minute show on each side of our building. Residents came out onto their balconies to listen and boogie down with Michael and his âbackup dancersâ (a.k.a. Oak Park’s activity staff and Residence Director, Terri Pratt). Everyone had a great time and we’re all looking forward to another serenade soon!
One grateful family member recently made a heartwarming gesture of gratitude for our incredible staff. To show her appreciation, she handwrote personal notes for each member and gave them all their own bag of Dove chocolates to enjoy. We also appreciate our awesome, caring staff here at Oak Park Senior Living, and we can’t tell you how much this amazing and thoughtful gesture means to us. Thank you! â¤ď¸
We recently put on a fun and music-filled parade for our Oak Park Senior Living members. They sat on their balconies and patios to watch and sing along to some classic favorites. It’s hard to say who enjoyed the parade more – the participants or the audience!
We held our annual Oak Park Senior Living Halloween party on October 31st. The afternoon was filled with music, singing, and dancing courtesy of Wayne and The Boys. As you can see, many tenants got in the spirit and dressed up for the occasion! ??ââď¸?
Oak Park Senior Living’s very own Head Chef, Joel Carlson, took 3rd place in the Minorâs Flavor Expedition Recipe Contest using their required ingredient of cilantro pesto. He made cilantro pesto beef baked chile rellenos with tomato crema and pickled vegetables. Congratulations, Joel! ?â??
Mother’s Day Wishes and Senior Prom at Oak Park Senior Living!
This past Sunday, we celebrated the never-ending love and bond of motherhood. Once again, we want to wish a happy (belated) Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers at Oak Park Senior Living!
Oak Park held its Senior Prom on May 9th with a âback to the â50sâ theme. Many of our tenants were going to their actual prom back in the â50s, so everyone was excited to relive some fun memories from their youth.
There were special treats prepared by our talented kitchen staff and champagne for all to enjoy. For this yearâs entertainment, we were very lucky to have the ’50s doo-wop band, the TC Cats, to keep the crowd singing, clapping, and dancing ????
