Our Assistant Residence Director, Jaime, recently received a thoughtful thank you note from one of our community members, which we always love!
“I wanted to send a compliment for Dean because for anything that needs repair, he does it right away (even though I always say ‘no rush’ in my notes to him). Additionally, I recently had Sean assist me with a light bulb change and he has a friendly personality and accomplishes whatever needs repair.
Both Dean and Shawn were here this morning to replace the light fixture over my kitchen sink. Not only is it terrific having light again over the sink, it was also enjoyable being able to chat with both of them.
You are also so caring and have a loving personality, Jaime, and I always enjoy talking with you.” – Carol G.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Carol. We take pride in going above and beyond for those who call our community home, and it’s always amazing to hear when it shows.
A family member of one of our residents recently sent a very kind thank you to one of our nurses, Lucy Y.:
“I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for setting up the daily weight and compression sock chart for my mom. It is very helpful in monitoring her health. We also appreciate your responsiveness and follow-through when we have health concerns regarding mom.
We are grateful for the care you and your team are providing.” -Julie T.
At Oak Park Senior Living, we take pride in going the extra mile to ensure the health and happiness of our residents, and we love to hear when it shows. Thank you for sharing, Julie, and thank you, Lucy, for all you do for our community!
Oak Park Senior Living staff received some very kind notes of thanks and gratitude in spirit of the holiday season!
This is from one of our resident couples:
“Betty and I want to say thank you for the first place victory on our door decorations. We also want to express our gratitude for the weekly publication you send to the residents. It is extremely well done and a very enjoyable read, and the games and challenges are fun as well. I tip my hat to you for putting it all together each week. Many kudos to you and your staff for brightening our day!
I always say Enjoy life to the fullest, as we never know when the Big Guy will call us home.’
Take care and stay safe.” -Jim and Betty G.

We had a VERY special day here at Oak Park Senior Living recently with a drive-by parade honoring one of our community members, Floyd.
Not only was it his 93rd birthday, we were also celebrating his 55 years of volunteer service with the Maplewood Oakdale Lions Club. Surrounded by friends and family, Floyd watched as Lions Clubs members from all across the state drove by to honor and thank him for his generosity and hard work. KSTP even came by to cover the heartwarming story. Watch the news clip below and please join us in congratulating and wishing a very happy birthday to our friend, Floyd!
Oak Park Senior Living staff received a very kind and heartwarming thank you from a resident’s family member following a recent social distance visit:
“I wanted to thank the Oak Park staff for their willingness to arrange a brief outdoor visit for my mom and two of her granddaughters. Travel plans suddenly changed and this was their only opportunity to see her as they were passing through town.
Although I didn’t want my dear mother out in the awful heat for too long, the short time we had was extremely precious to all of us. Seeing her in person again after such a long time brought me to tears, and I know my nieces and mom felt extreme joy being able to visit and talk with each other.
So, although I thanked your staff repeatedly (especially Sue, who called to get special permission for the extra-short visit), I wanted to share again how very much we appreciated it, how much it meant to us, and how much it lifted my mom’s spirits.
I know the COVID constraints are causing a lot of stress and extra work for all of you, but we truly appreciate everything you do. Even these seemingly little things mean the world to us.” -Mary S.
Thank you for the kind words, Mary! We are so happy things worked out and your family had an amazing visit. ❤️
Oak Park Senior Living’s Residence Director, Terri Pratt, received another message of gratitude from a resident’s family member recently:
“My family and I couldn’t be happier about how you and everyone at Oak Park have been handling this crazy COVID situation. We really appreciate the updates and your efforts to keep everyone safe while also understanding their need for socialization. That’s a difficult line to walk, and I want you to know our family thinks you all are handling it well.
Our father, Richard, has loved living in your community, and we appreciate everyone who helps him on a daily basis. Thank you SO much and keep up the excellent work!” -Jeff K.
We always prioritize the safety, well-being, and happiness of our residents at Oak Park, especially during these difficult times. Thank you so much for the lovely message, Jeff!
Saturday, June 13 was a very special day here at Oak Park Senior Living: One of our residents, Charlie H., turned 100! To celebrate and honor this monumental occasion, Charlie’s friends and family put on a car parade just for him. He had so much fun waving as the line of cars filled with loved ones drove by.
Charlie, a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, says his secret to a long and happy life is letting go of the things you can’t change and focusing on the present and enjoying every minute. What great advice from an amazing man!
Thank you to everyone who helped organize and participated in this incredibly touching celebration. Please join us in wishing a happy 100th birthday to Charlie! ???
One grateful family member recently made a heartwarming gesture of gratitude for our incredible staff. To show her appreciation, she handwrote personal notes for each member and gave them all their own bag of Dove chocolates to enjoy. We also appreciate our awesome, caring staff here at Oak Park Senior Living, and we can’t tell you how much this amazing and thoughtful gesture means to us. Thank you! ❤️
Two local Stillwater businesses donated all the fixings for root beer floats. The Lift Bridge Brewery donated handcrafted root beer, and Leo’s Malt Shop donated enough ice cream so that every Oak Park tenant was able to enjoy this yummy treat.
We have been fortunate to have so many businesses, families, and local residents drop off treats, letters, drawings, and more to help make this difficult situation as good as it can be. Our tenants are definitely feeling the love being sent their way from the community.
Last month, Oak Park Senior Living celebrated Veterans Day with several special events honoring our Vets. Our day started with the Stillwater American Legion coming out to dedicate a new flag to our Veterans. Later in the afternoon, Michael Riddle came and did a special program that included many patriotic songs that had everyone singing along. Oak Park is fortunate to have 39 veterans living in our community with every branch of the military being represented.
